Ana Maraž (1985)
is an illustrator of highly stylized illustrations with a distinctive minimalist and flat style. She exhibits and publishes her work in renowned children's magazines at home and abroad, and her illustrations have also appeared in the books Kako dolg ječas (Mate Dolenc, Beletrina, 2019), Božaj veter (Miroslav Košuta, 2021), Protideževna juha (Majda Koren, KUD Sodobnost International, 2023), Narisati ptico (Kaja Teržan, Mladinska knjiga, 2024) and Njam, njam, marmelada (Majda Koren, KUD Sodobnost International, 2025). She illustrated the cover of the poetry collection Mejno stanje (Lidija Dimkovska, Mladinska knjiga, 2023) and the covers of Cicido magazine (volume 27, 2024/2025). For her illustrations in the book Božaj veter, she received the award for best illustration in the book illustration category at Ilustrofest in Belgrade and the Golden Pear quality mark. Illustrations from the book Kako dolg je čas (How Long is Time) were selected for the Golden Pinwheel in Shanghai and received special praise at the 14th Slovenian Biennial of Illustration. Illustrations from the picture book Protideževna juha (Anti-Rain Soup) were selected for the 58th International Children's Book Illustration Exhibition in Bologna, and the book received the Golden Pear quality mark and the Kristina Brenkova Award for the most original Slovenian picture book of 2024. The picture book has been/will be published in Latvia, Serbia, Turkey, Pakistan, and Croatia. She lives and works in Vipava.
