Internationally renowned Swedish saxophonist Martin Küchen, who—in addition to performing with the ensembles Trespass Trio, Angles 9, and All Included—composes music for theater, film, and sound installations, joins the electro-acoustic duo SUBBURBEN — drummer and percussionist Gal Furlan, a student of Zlatko Kaučič and leader of the Štala Club at KUD Kussa, and composer and sound designer Andrej Kobal, creator of the internationally acclaimed virtual instruments GranuRise and seqMPEror — in a collaborative project where saxophone, percussion, and live electronics—created using modular systems and custom-built tools—intertwine in an open, dynamic, and unpredictable sonic space of free improvisation.
Martin Küchen (saxophone) – born in 1966 in Sweden.
He plays the alto, tenor, soprano, sopranino, and baritone saxophones.
He performs internationally in the fields of jazz and improvised music.
He creates music for theater and film, music based on poetry, and sound installations.
He composes for the ensembles Trespass Trio, Angles 9, All Included, and the Martin Küchen & Landaeus trio.
Gal Furlan (drums, percussion) – A drummer and percussionist trained by Zlatko Kaučič, deeply active in the fields of jazz and contemporary improvised music. He also runs Klub Štala, where he organizes events under the auspices of KUD Kussa. He has collaborated with numerous renowned musicians and appears on more than 50 music albums.
Andrej Kobal (live electronics, modular system, GranuRise) – Composer, sound designer, and creator of GranuRise and seqMPEror, two internationally recognized virtual instruments. In his performances, he focuses on shaping soundscapes in real time, creating organic and constantly evolving sonic structures.
