Damijan Kracina, Drogo: The hero of the novel The Tatar Desert, who spends his life guarding an old border fortress.
Damijan Kracina completed his studies in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana in 1996 and obtained his master's degree in sculpture and video art there in 1999. He furthered his studies at residencies in Graz, New York, at the Tamarind Institute in Albuquerque, and at the Santa Fe Art Institute in the USA. He was a founding member of the Provokart art group. He is also a co-founder of the Društvo za domače raziskave art group. In 2015, he founded the Last Museum of Contemporary Art in Logje. He lives and works in Ljubljana.
